Recycling is cool. Recycling garbage is cool. Recycling content is cool.
It may not be cool in a "Darth Vader riding a unicycle" way. It's cool more in a "I'm mindful and efficient" way.
Since there is often more work than time in the day, being efficient is of utmost importance to most marketers. Finding ways to recycle content is a key aspect of a good marketing plan, and that goes for recycling video content too! So, here are 5 ways to recycle your video content.
1) USE QUOTES FROM THE VIDEO
Transcribing your video and using the quotes from it is a great way to recycle the content! The quotes can be made into graphics for social media, used in annual reports, or even put on promotional materials such as brochures.
2) INCLUDE THE VIDEO IN YOUR E-MAIL BLASTS
Did you know that adding the word "video" to the subject line of your e-mails dramatically increases open rates? It's true!
3) USE THE VIDEO AT COMPANY EVENTS
Having a looping video playing on a television at your booth during an expo or in the background for visitors to casually watch during a company event is a great way to recycle your video!
4) PUT THE VIDEO ON YOUR WEBSITE
This one may seem like a bit of a no-brainer; but, if your video was created for social media, you may forget that it's great to put it on your website as well! If the video is about a new product, be sure to include it on your "Products" or "Services" page of your website. If it's an informational video about your organization or the impact you're making, include it on your "About Us" or "Home" page. You could even make a blog post out of your video!
5) RE-POST YOUR VIDEO (MAYBE AS SHORTER SEGMENTS)
This is perhaps the most overlooked way to recycle your video content. Do you remember what you had for breakfast 4 days ago? No? How about what you saw on Twitter 64 days ago? No? Neither will your followers on social media. If you re-post your video content once in a while, they won't notice. They especially won't notice if you break a longer video into shorter segments before re-sharing it. If anyone does notice, chances are that they really like your organization and will share it too!
